Welcome to Culture Reggae, the website for record collectors and soundsystem followers. We've been talking to artists, producers, soundsystem operators, promoters, broadcasters and writers since 2003. We started the site because there were very few other places where you could read about the kind of conscious, Roots Reggae that we like; especially music from the UK.

In many ways things have changed since then. There are now several notable websites and even some magazines that write about the scene. So the pressure is off. We've reduced the number of updates and forgone the charts, events reviews, editorial and guest contributions. We have taken Culture Reggae back to its essence - well written interviews with people that we respect from our UK Reggae scene. As Martin Luther King said "All progress is precarious and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem", so there's always going to be something to talk about and the struggle never ends.   Big respects to all the other writers, bloggers, broadcasters and publishers (especially those making videos and streaming music). Reggae coverage is a good deal better than it was. We still think that there's a place for what we do. We've come to realise that our average visitor enjoys having something good to read on the computer at work. A new feature from Culture Reggae can brighten up a boring Monday in the office. Happy skiving!
